ToxMap: It's enough to make you sick
The National Library of Medicine introduces ToxMap, a Geographic Information System (GIS) that uses maps of the United States to help users visually explore data from the EPA's Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).Federal law requires facilities in certain industries, which manufacture, process, or use significant amounts of toxic chemicals, to report annually on their releases of these chemicals.
TOXMAP maps show where these chemicals are released into the air, water, and ground, and identify the releasing facilities, single year releases, and chemical release trends over time.
