Get permission to sing "Happy Birthday" first!
Did you know that "Happy Birthday To You" is copyrighted and the copyright is owned by Time Warner? That means that you need to get permission from ASCAP to perform it. And if you see if performed, you should notify them of the infringement of their copyright (assuming the performer hasn't already arranged to pay a royalty for its performance, of course).Every time.

I heard this sometime back and noticed that when you go to chain restaurants, the crew always sings some really obnoxious song to the guest of honor ... but never the birthday song.
