Different ways of looking at marriages/relationships

Some people believe that a marriage/relationship between two heterosexual people is good, and that a relationship between two gay individuals is bad.

Other people (many Unitarian Universalists among them) believe that a marriage/relationship which is kind, loving, and caring is good, and that a relationship where one partner physically or psychologically injures the other is bad.

Perhaps that's one example of the idea that Unitarian Universalists value deeds more than creeds or rules.

Ummm... I think that most Christians would say that the abusive marriage was worse than the gay one.

In the gay one, they might think people were choosing to sin, but at least the parties involved would be consenting. An abusive marriage has objectionable activity that is forced on somebody.

CC,

I'd be very pleased if your theory was correct.

With what appears to me to be the incredible hangups many conservative Christians have with anything other than traditional heterosexual sex, I'm not entirely sure.

Perhaps it's just the loudmouth self-appointed leaders who have those hangups - the ones I hear. Don't know.

Conservative Christians aren't the only one's brow beating people into their way of life and belief. They're just the poster children.

Organized religion is being defrocked in a series starting this week called “Save Thee? Or Sell Thee?” at:
