Choosing To Wound

Dr-reiux criticizes A Chosen Faith by UU Revs. John A. Buehrens and Forrest Church.

I haven't read the book (probably should!). The blog author seems to judge the book much more harshly than I would, based on the passages he cites. In fact, my initial reaction is that there's a lot of positive things to think about in the book.

Ignore him, Paul. He criticizes everything.

Why, hello there! Welcome to my little LiveJournal!

Fausto's comment strikes me as something short of the ideal UU response to intellectual discussion.

In contrast to his resort to bald ad hominem, I have put my cards on the table: my review of A Chosen Faith is very explicit about what I find objectionable in the book and why. If you disagree with me that the book contains repeated bigoted personal attacks at nonbelievers, why not post a comment at my journal, or a blog post here, explaining which part of my logic you think is flawed?

(If you post something, I'd love an e-mail to camusrieux@yahoo.com letting me know--because I'd very much like to discuss.)

See you soon, I hope!
